Wawecus Road School is participating in a school-wide coordinated effort to prepare our students to be college and career ready. Students will demonstrate through reading, writing and speaking measurable growth in their ability to read fluently, comprehend deeply, think critically and respond effectively. This will be achieved by consistently implementing our 5 best practices, continuing Self-regulated Strategy Development (SRSD) writing strategy with fidelity, building mathematical skills and understanding and stimulating and intensifying a child’s natural curiosity through “hands on, minds on” Science. Students’ progress will be frequently measured by rubrics, formative and summative assessments, and the teacher’s collection of portfolio artifacts.
