Christine Lloyd

Dear Burncoat Street Preparatory School Community,

I hope you are doing well. I am writing to formally announce that Christine Lloyd has been selected as Acting Principal of Burncoat Street Preparatory School for the 2026-27 school year.

Most of you know Mrs. Lloyd: She has been the Assistant Principal of Burncoat Prep for two years and has worked as an educator in the Worcester Public Schools for 21 years. Since 2011, Mrs. Lloyd has managed and now runs the district-wide robotics program, facilitating an important initiative that has advanced students’ understanding of STEM in a fun and hands-on way.

Mrs. Lloyd’s prior roles include Science Curriculum Liaison for the district, math and science teacher at Tatnuck Magnet Elementary School, and biology teacher at Worcester Technical High School. She began her career through the Teach for America program, working as a science teacher in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

I would like to thank Dr. Emily Plante for her strong leadership as Principal of Burncoat Prep for the past three years. Her dedication to academic excellence and systems leaves behind a solid foundation for next year. I wish her well as she moves to a district leadership position in the Arlington Public Schools.

Mrs. Lloyd’s deep knowledge of Burncoat Prep, and her longstanding commitment to supporting students’ success will be an asset as she becomes Acting Principal. She looks forward to connecting with students, families, and staff in her new role.

Until then, please have a safe and enjoyable summer.

Sincerely,

William Foley
