December 23, 2025
Dear Worcester Public Schools Community,
The holidays are here, and it is hard to believe that we are already halfway through the school year.
Across our district, the spirit of the season is alive and well through caregiver gatherings, student performances, and celebrations taking place in our schools. These moments serve as meaningful reminders of the vibrant, creative, and supportive community we share in the Worcester Public Schools.
I want to take this opportunity to recognize the hard work and dedication of our students and staff. As I continue to visit schools, I see exceptional teaching and learning happening every day. Thoughtful planning and strong instructional practices are evident across the district. Our students are engaged in their learning and supported by educators who are deeply committed to their success.
I would also like to extend my sincere appreciation to our many community partners who help make this season brighter for our students and families. As I often say, it truly takes a village, and we are fortunate to have such a strong one supporting the Worcester Public Schools community.
Thank you to our caregivers, educators, and students for your commitment to being at school every day. Because of your collective efforts, our district’s chronic absenteeism rate declined by four percent in December. Strong attendance is foundational to long-term success, and I am proud of the positive culture we are building together.
Finally, thank you to our entire community for your continued feedback and partnership. Your voices play an important role in ensuring that Worcester Public Schools remains a place where everyone can thrive.
As we head into the holiday break, I hope you are able to take time to rest, recharge, and focus on what matters most. I wish you and your loved ones a safe, peaceful, joyful, and restful holiday season.
Happy holidays, and best wishes for a happy new year.
Sincerely,
Brian E. Allen
Superintendent
