Dear McGrath Families,

I wanted to take a moment to share some important news with our school community. Beginning next school year, I will be transitioning to a new role as principal at Belmont Street Community School. While I am excited for this next chapter professionally, leaving Francis J. McGrath School is not easy.

Although my time at McGrath was shorter than I originally anticipated, it has been incredibly meaningful and impactful. This school truly is a hidden gem within Worcester Public Schools. The sense of community here is something special, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have worked alongside such dedicated staff, supportive families, and amazing students. Every day, I have seen the care, resilience, and heart that make McGrath such a wonderful place for children to learn and grow.

I am deeply grateful for the relationships and memories built during my time here. It has been an honor to support this community and to be welcomed so warmly by all of you.

I am also very happy to share that your incoming principal will be Erin Derr, the current principal of City View Discovery School. Mrs. Derr is a highly respected and well-established leader within Worcester Public Schools. She brings a wealth of experience, strong instructional leadership, and a genuine commitment to students and families. I truly believe she will be a wonderful fit for the McGrath community and will continue building upon the strong foundation already in place.
