Welcome!

Midland Street School is a vibrant elementary school located in the Doherty Quadrant of the Worcester Public Schools.

Built in 1896, our historic building has served generations of students and continues to be a cornerstone of the community—where tradition meets progress in a warm and inclusive environment.

Midland Street is a community where every child is known, supported, and celebrated. We foster a safe and inclusive environment that encourages collaboration, problem-solving, and empathy. Across all grades, students are guided to grow academically and socially in a space that values kindness, responsibility, and respect.

With a strong partnership between students, families, staff, and the greater community, Midland Street School continues to build a foundation of belonging and high expectations.

At Midland Street School, every student shines—and every voice matters.

Instructional Focus

Midland Street School is a National ESEA Distinguished School

Our school wide focus is to have Midland Street School students show measurable growth in their ability to read and write with understanding at grade level and be math fact fluent by grade 3. This will be achieved through the use of a common set of school wide instructional strategies in reading, writing and mathematics as measured by formative and summative assessments.
