Dear North High School Students, Staff, and Families,
I hope you are doing well. I am writing to announce that Mr. Edward Walker has been selected as the next Principal of North High School for the 2026-27 school year.
Mr. Walker is currently the Dean of Students at Worcester Technical High School. His career spans many years in education, from K-12 to higher education, where he led strategic school projects, supervised student success teams, and designed professional development to support students’ academic and social-emotional growth.
As a longtime consultant and instructor for IDEAS (Initiatives for Developing Equity and Achievement for Students) with the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents, Mr. Walker designed and delivered curriculum, as well as coached educators, on how to grow culturally responsive practices in schools.
Prior to Worcester, Mr. Walker served as a Dean of Students, Guidance Counselor, and Associate Director of College Counseling at middle and high schools in Massachusetts. He excels at stakeholder management, strategic planning, and building thriving systems, teams, and infrastructures that empower both scholars and educators to meet their highest potential.
Mr. Walker holds a Master of Education in school psychology and counseling, a principal licensure through the Mass. School Administrators’ Association, and a Bachelor of Arts from Bates College.
I would like to thank Dr. Sam FanFan for his three years of dedicated service and passion to support the students at North High School. Dr. FanFan will continue to support the district as Manager of Positive Youth Development.
Mr. Walker’s commitment to high-quality instruction, equity, and knowledge of Worcester has placed him in a position to become a successful leader at North High. He looks forward to connecting with students, families, and staff soon.
Sincerely,
Dr. Kareem Tatum
