Worcester UNITES hosted its summer concert at Sullivan Middle School earlier this week! 😎🎷 The summer concert featured performances from the string orchestra and concert band and brought together more than 100 WPS musicians from over 20 district-schools. Great job to our Worcester UNITES musicians and thank you to our instructors and families for supporting the program!

Worcester Public Schools, Worcester Public Library Team Up For Accessible Summer Reading 📚😎 This summer, all Worcester Public Schools (WPS) students who will enter grades 7, 8, 9, or 10 in the fall will have free access to digital versions of their summer reading books thanks to a new partnership with the Worcester Public Library (WPL). The students will receive free access to digital summer reading books through the Sora app on Clever. The digital books are now available for 90-day checkout at no cost to WPS students or their families.

School canceled on Thursday, June 20th!🌞 We are anticipating hot weather this week with high temperatures forecast above 90 degrees Tuesday through Friday. As a result, school will be canceled on Thursday, June 20. In addition, Burncoat High School will be canceled on Friday, June 21. Last day of school will be tomorrow, Tuesday, June 18!

🎉 Congratulations Phu Nguyen on your retirement! Phu has been an inspiring High School Math Teacher for the past 30 years. Starting in 1994 at South High School and then moving to the original ALL School in 1995, he dedicated his career to shaping young minds. Their academic prowess, including completion of fourteen AP classes and earning recognition as a National Merit Scholarship Program Commended Student, showcases their commitment to excellence. ⭐ WooStar Andy Sharry, physical education and health teacher at South High Community School ⭐ “Andy goes above and beyond in his role as a gym and health teacher,” said a fellow staff member. “He has organized CPR training for his students, he organized a heart check-up day bringing in doctors from the city to conduct heart checks, he volunteers to emcee our school pep rallies and dresses up in costumes to greet our students and promote "smile day" and other important days for our students." "He is a great teacher who emphasizes mindfulness and good health among his students."

Not only is Katie an amazing teacher, but she is also the advisor to South High's literary magazine "The Apricot Journal" which was recently recognized as distinguished as part of the annual Recognizing Excellence in Art and Literary Magazine.
