Dear Thorndyke Road School Families and Staff,
I am writing to share bittersweet news. This afternoon I informed school staff that effective July 1, I will no longer be the Principal of the Thorndyke Road Elementary School. For the 2024-25 school year, I will be taking on a new position as Principal of Clark Street Community School.
Susan Donahue, who is currently the Principal of the Rice Square Elementary School, will become the Principal of Thorndyke Road School. I have worked with Ms. Donahue and can speak to her experience in school leadership.
In mid-May, Ms. Donahue will visit Thorndyke to observe and meet with staff and students. She will share more information about the transition in a letter to families in early June, and will provide families and staff an opportunity to meet with her prior to the start of the 2024-25 school year. I ask that you welcome her with open arms.
It has been an honor and a privilege to work with so many wonderful students and staff at Thorndyke. I look forward to continuing to be part of the Worcester Public Schools community, just in a different role, and will be watching from afar as the school continues to provide their students and families the best Worcester has to offer. I thank you all for your support and for welcoming me into your House of Joy.
