Superintendent's Message

Dear Worcester Public Schools Community,

It’s hard to believe we’re already in the fourth quarter of the school year. This year’s theme has been “Vision to Action” and that means we’re going deeper into our work to get results for students.

As I walk through schools every day, I see examples of educators and students focusing on core content through high-quality teaching while focusing on critical focus areas, such as ensuring all students are reading at grade level by third grade. As part of this work, our schools are hosting fun activities, integrating literacy across all subject areas — including science and math — and building the necessary skills for our students.

Many of our schools are continuing this work outside of the normal school day by hosting after-school tutoring and literacy workshops through the Springboard initiative.

And as we continue to focus on inclusion, we had a number of impressive reading lessons about Women’s History Month in recent weeks around the district — underscoring the significant and lasting contributions women make to our society.

As we enter the final weeks of the school year, we have a lot to look forward to: students studying for MCAS and end-of-the-year exams, tournaments and celebrations, and, for the class of 2026: their high school graduations.

As a school district, the Worcester Public Schools is focused on the School Boundary and Quadrant Alignment Project. We welcome your participation at our ongoing community forums to ensure students have logical and equitable pathways to success.

Thank you to our caregivers, staff, students and community for continuing to work in partnership with us — leading with purpose and delivering results.

Sincerely,

Brian E. Allen
