WORCESTER – Tuesday, September 1, 2026 — The Worcester Public Schools announces Jibrael N. Younis as the new Coordinator of Worcester NightLife, the evening program that hosts a range of educational opportunities for adults.

Located at Worcester Technical High School, Worcester NightLife serves the community through two types of courses: community class offerings, which includes courses like Tai Chi, world languages, and do-it-yourself home improvement skills; and workforce development, which provides skills for in-demand careers in healthcare, diesel technology, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical. 

Younis brings more than a decade of workforce development leadership experience. He most recently worked as Operations Manager for MassHire Central Career Centers in Worcester, where he oversaw programming funded through the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). While at MassHire, he also directed workforce development programming that served local job seekers through the Commonwealth’s Career Technical Initiative through partnerships at Worcester Technical, Bay Path, and Blackstone Valley career technical high schools. 

Younis begins in his new role after already working closely with the NightLife program on student recruitment, eligibility, and workforce readiness. Younis holds a Master of Social Work from Boston College and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Endicott College.

Younis takes over for Ruth Seward, who is stepping down as the leader of NightLife, a role she has held since 2021. Seward’s leadership revived community classes following the COVID-19 pandemic and facilitated a continuous expansion of workforce development offerings. During the 2025-26 school year, NightLife served 829 local adults, with 187 in community classes and 642 in workforce development programs.
