Dear Woodland Academy Community,

Over the past several months, school and district administrators have had several discussions about ways to best support students and staff at Woodland Academy with a goal of enhancing student outcomes.

With that in mind, I am announcing that Mary Sealey has been appointed as Principal of Woodland Academy for the 2026-27 school year. Mrs. Sealey has been a Principal in the Worcester Public Schools for 13 years, including 12 years at Canterbury Street School in Main South. She has held various roles over three decades in WPS, including as an Assistant Principal and Curriculum Specialist. She has extensive experience in special education, including with STEP and Transitional Life Skills programs.

I would like to thank Mr. Christopher LaBreck for his commitment to the students of Woodland Academy and Claremont Academy as he has served as Principal of both schools for the past year. Mr. LaBreck will continue to be Principal at Claremont Academy and will work closely with Mrs. Sealey in this shared school community.

Mrs. Sealey approaches her students as bright, capable, resilient, and full of promise.  She has a demonstrated track record of improving student achievement and looks forward to returning to the Main South community. Mary will be connecting directly with students, families, and staff in the near future.
