The Worcester Public Schools is excited to offer AP Art History for the 2026–2027 school year through a partnership between Worcester Public Schools and the Worcester Art Museum. We are asking for your help spreading the word and encouraging students who may be interested to consider this unique opportunity.

AP Art History begins September 1 from 4:00–6:30 PM and meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00–6:30 PM at the Worcester Art Museum. Students have access to the museum galleries, Conservation Lab, Prints and Drawings Collection, studios, and Museum Library. Every student receives a free year-long museum pass.

A few things to know:

  • No prerequisites are required. World History is recommended but not required.

  • Students in grades 9–12 are eligible to enroll.

  • 40 seats are available, with priority given to seniors if applications exceed capacity.

  • Students must take the AP exam at the end of the course.

  • The course satisfies graduation requirements and MassCore.

  • Saturday tutoring sessions will begin in December.

  • The course continues through June 4 for the creation of our final exhibition.

Students interested in the course should notify Timmary Leary at learyt@worcesterschools.net or 774-242-6041.

Students can also join our Google Classroom: cfq3yg7o.

This course is especially well suited for students who enjoy learning through objects, exploring museums, working with a new group of peers, and experiencing art and history in a different environment

For more information, please contact Timmary Leary at learyt@worcesterschools.net or 774-242-6041.

Thank you for helping us share this opportunity with students and families!
