🔧 Reverse Engineering in Action at Doherty Memorial High School 🔍
At this year’s Doherty Memorial High School Learning Fair, scholars didn’t just present what they’ve learned — they took it apart. Through a cross-disciplinary reverse engineering project, students brought academic concepts to life across five subjects, demonstrating both intellectual depth and real-world problem-solving.
💡 In Engineering, scholars disassembled real-world products and used professional Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to model their inner workings.
📚 In History, they traced each product’s evolution, aligning technological advancements with key global events.
✍️ In English, they wrote technical descriptions using precise, industry-standard language.
🧬 In Biology, they analyzed how the human body interacts with the selected technologies.
📏 In Math, scholars applied the water displacement method to calculate density through hands-on experimentation.
📌 The result? Highly polished poster presentations that showcased rigorous research, collaboration, and thoughtful interdisciplinary integration.
This multi-disciplinary project reflects dispositions of the Vision of a Learner future-ready framework including Curious Learner (CL 4), Effective Communicator (EC 3), and Problem Solver (PS 4).
👏 Congratulations to the scholars and educators at Doherty for fostering innovation, critical thinking, and real-world learning through this dynamic experience.
