WORCESTER — Friday, February 6, 2026 — May Street School will be temporarily renamed to “Maye Street School” through Super Bowl LX in recognition of the hometown New England Patriots and quarterback Drake Maye.
Worcester Public Schools Superintendent Brian E. Allen made the temporary name change official during a district-wide principal’s meeting on February 5, presenting Maye Street School Principal Luke Robert with a ceremonial declaration to mark the occasion.
“This is an exciting time for our students, staff, and school communities as the Patriots return to the Super Bowl,” said Superintendent Allen. “For years, we watched Tom Brady and the team play at the highest level, and now our kids in Worcester can see Drake Maye and this year’s team doing the same. Moments like these can really inspire our students to dream big and work hard.”

“We often use sports analogies to emphasize the importance of teamwork, attitude, effort and respect, in addition to the studying it takes to reach the NFL following college and the work it takes to learn the playbook and execute the plan. This is a fun way to tap into that energy here in our own school community,” said Maye Street School Principal Luke Robert.
The temporary name change will remain in effect through Sunday’s Super Bowl, which will be televised on NBC at 6:30 PM.
The school name change is a lighthearted celebration of school spirit, community pride, and the excitement of another New England Patriots championship pursuit.
