Good Afternoon, Millbury Head Start Families,

We are writing to inform you that the Millbury Street Head Start will be closed to students again on Tuesday, October 27, due to a facility issue. Please keep reading this message for important information.

• There will be no school on Tuesday, October 27, for Millbury Street Head Start students.

• On Wednesday, October 28, your child will be assigned to attend one of two alternative Head Start locations:

  • Greendale Head Start: 130 Leeds Street 

  • Mill Swan Head Start: 337 Mill Street

  • If you wish to not send your child to school, please let us know.

• Today, you will receive a phone call from a school staff member informing you of which location your child will be assigned to attend. Please note the following:

• If your child takes the school bus, you can drop them off at the same bus stop as usual. There will be additional buses to transport students to alternative locations. There will be additional staff on hand, including school bus monitors, to ensure that the process takes place without error.

• Your child’s teacher and classmates will continue to be with your child at the alternative location.

• If your child has any documented medical or nutritional needs, your child’s needs will be accommodated.

The Millbury Street building will remain closed until further notice and will reopen once testing confirms it is safe to return. We hope this situation will be resolved this week but we cannot provide an exact date of return at this time.

We ask for your understanding as we work to resolve this situation as soon as possible. We will stay in communication with you throughout this process. As always, the health and safety of our students and staff is always our top priority.
